What is an ASC?

Ambulatory surgery centers (ASC), also known as outpatient surgery centers, are health care facilities where surgical procedures not requiring an overnight hospital stay are performed.

ASC's are designed for efficiency, offering a more convenient and cost-effective alternative to hospitals for outpatient surgeries. They have become an essential part of the healthcare system, improving access to surgical care while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Advanced Center for Surgery was designed specifically with patients and their loved ones in mind.

Paving the Way for Same-Day Total Joints

Advanced Center for Surgery has been performing outpatient total joint replacements since December of 2012. On average, Advanced Center for Surgery providers perform around 72 total joint replacements per month. These procedures include Total Knee Replacements, Total Hip Replacements( Anterior and Posterior), Total Shoulder Replacements, and Total Ankle Replacements. Patients undergoing joint replacement surgery at Advanced Center for Surgery, versus an acute-care setting, have reduced risk of infection, as well as reduced risk of complications associated with general anesthesia.

With decades of experience, our highly skilled orthopaedic surgeons consistently deliver exceptional patient experiences and superior outcomes. Leveraging the latest technology and evidence-based practices, our physicians have determined that same-day total joint replacement is a safer, more convenient, and ultimately more successful option for many patients seeking relief from joint pain.

The Center's Medical Director, Dr. Christopher S. McClellan, a leading expert in same-day total joint replacements, is often invited to serve as a guest speaker at facilities around the country to educate them on this advanced procedure.

If you are a candidate for this surgery, you can expect to receive expert, compassionate care as soon as you arrive at the facility . A successful surgery involves our dedicated team of anesthesia providers performing cutting-edge regional anesthesia techniques.

Then, our surgeons use special muscle-sparing techniques; these techniques pave the way for faster recovery times. Your surgeons office will set-up all aftercare needed, including any medications and home nursing services. This ensures a smooth transition from facility to home. The nursing staff provides in-depth discharge information that will leave you and your family prepared to recover at home with post-operative follow-up calls to answer any questions you may have.

Imagine recovering in your own bed on the very same day as your joint replacement. With our same-day approach to joint replacement surgery, you'll typically be at the facility for only 4-5 hours, so you can begin your recovery at home.
